Background:
Dragonfly Pictures' DP-4 is the fourth in a line of increasingly sophisticated
VTOL UAVs. Designed for the aerial cinematography market, the DP-4 has
been used in the production of three motion pictures. Its maker has
two generations of expertise in developing and manufacturing helicopters,
and has produced ten DP-4s to date, which have accumulated over 100
hours of flight time, including some 75 hours on one vehicle. Its customers
have been the Army's Communications and Electronics Command (CECOM)
and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).
