Wideband
Wireless Network (WWN) - WWN is a military air-to-air collaborative
network designed for applicability to autonomous multi-UAS operations.
The peer-to-peer network is self-organizing and operates in the 3.1
GHz to 3.6 GHz RF radio-location band. WWN is based on safety and
security. It was developed to be FAA certifiable to DO-178B and
DO-254 Design Assurance Level (DAL) A. The WWN waveform also provides
direct RF measurements of range, range rate and bearing for operation
independent of external navigation systems such as GPS. WWN It is
suitable for safety of flight in the NAS, other global civil airspace
and with LPD/AJ in combat zones. WWN builds on the division's 40-year
history of Stationkeeping Equipment (SKE) as the exclusive provider
of IMC formation flight systems for C-130, C-141 and C-17 aircraft
worldwide. WWN permits unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) to fly in autonomous
very-close formation and/or in a free-flight collision avoidance collaborative
environment (swarming). WWN can also transfer collaborative data such
as sensor/data link cueing and hunter-killer-assessment coordination.
Multiple UA packaging formats will be available to optimize integration
into various airframe sizes. |
